New units are still available that have never been used and still in sealed boxes. These are units the USA NSA ordered, but the company GVI went out of business. Leaving many of these undelivered units in the court system til now. And the price for these units, for what they do is at a good buy.

There are Pro and Cons in buying older systems but IMO these units are well wought a look at before they all are sold off. And yes D1 recording is available on these units. And 1080p out as well!! HDMI
Units are over sized compared to ones available today, but the extra area helps in cooling the hard drive. IMO and a fan can be added to the system via on board socket.
Add in the remote viewing capabitiy of the DVR and the lower of price it's a great unit for someone wishing to be about to monitor thier home on a budget.
