I need to know how to get my GVI AR-6160 with 1.00.72 firmware to record only channels 1-5 and record 24/7. I have not been able to figure out how to do this. It has a 500GB drive installed. It sees the drive. The menu is not clear enough for me to understand. I have owned several other dvrs and not had this trouble. They all would record "all the time", motion or timed for each channel and show on the channel if it was recording. This thing is not easy to understand and I have downloaded the user manual. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

If you have gotten your dvr going, it would be nice to have some instructions for dummies in how to setup this dvr. I can not find any videos except how to update firmware. The manual is not clear instructions on how to set recording for each channel. I can't even get mine to record at all. Ronny

I think this was a failed project, started and then scraped. Why would there be so little info. The channels go dead the IR Remotes do not work and no update. This site is as close as you will get for any help. I do appreciate the blogger who set it up.

I have updated the blog, but have not gotten to the videos yet. I'll try to have some before the end of the year 2014. I will first try to update the Setup page. Note: It's easiest to use the GUI software to setup the recording settings. So I'll put up some screen shots of this week.
